
The Chicago Sky is an American female basketball team that is located in Chicago. The team is a member of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and competes in the Eastern Conference. The franchise was created before the 2006 season. It was initially known as The Chicago Mercury. But, it is now more well-known than the Chicago Sky.

Drafts for the WNBA
Despite being quiet during the WNBA drafts of the last few weeks, the Chicago Sky didn't speak up. But local players were taken to the top in the first round. The Dallas Wings selected Veronica Burton, a Northwestern guard, as their seventh overall pick. She averaged 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists and four steals per game last season, and she even reached double figures in the Big Ten tournament. The Phoenix Mercury also drafted Maya Dodson, Notre Dame's forward.
Trades
The Sky have made some moves in order to improve their roster for the offseason. They exchanged several players for draft picks. They traded Alaina Coles to Minnesota, and acquired Kaitlin Lou Samuelson and Astou Ndour from Dallas. They also traded their 16th pick from the 2021 Draft, as well as a second-rounder in 2022.
Uniforms
The Chicago Sky is a professional basketball team in the Midwest United States. Magellan, the team's uniform sponsor, has remained unchanged. The team recently revealed its new gold uniforms. The team's home games are broadcast on WCIU-TV and WMEU-CD, while select games are televised nationally on NBA TV and ESPN.
Broadcasts of games
The Chicago Sky have released their broadcast schedule for the 2021 season. The team will broadcast five regular-season games on CW26. Lisa Byington, color analysis by Meghan McKeown and play-by–play from Lisa Byington are some of the highlights. Five games also will air on My michiana in South Bend.

Fan base
The Chicago Sky enjoy a strong fan base that celebrates their accomplishments and works to improve the city. Thousands of Sky fans gathered to celebrate the team's win in the 2015 WNBA championship. This was a beautiful way to strengthen community spirit.
