In this article, we will examine the women's flyweight division in UFC. We will also review Shevchenko’s flawless record and Calvillo’s rise to the top, who is aiming to take on higher-ranked opponents. We will also look at Jedrzejczyk’s defence of the title.
Women's Flyweight UFC is defeated
UFC's women’s flyweight is a new division and is rapidly growing. The division currently has two champions, Nicco Montano and Valentina Shevchenko. Montano is Chickasaw and Navajo descent and discovered a passion for MMA as a child. She is just coming off a submission victory against Joanne Wood and has won four straight.

Shevchenko's perfect record in the UFC
Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko currently holds the title of UFC women’s champion at flyweight. She is now 22-3 with six victories, and only one loss. She is one of the top Muay Thai fighters and has defeated four UFC champions.
Calvillo's step up to fight higher-ranked opponents
Calvillo was struggling in her three previous fights and decided to challenge higher-ranked competitors. Calvillo began her career at 56th percentile on DKFP. After beating Jessica Andrade (Katlyn Chookagian) and Jessica Andrade (Jessica Andrade), she lost to Nina Nunes (3 times in a row). Calvillo, although she is no longer ranked in MMA, has the potential to make a difference in her MMA career.
Jedrzejczyk's title defence
Joanna Jedrzejczyk of Poland is a mixed-martial artist. For five years she has competed in UFC. Jedrzejczyk was born in kickboxing. In 2006, Jedrzejczyk lost three consecutive kickboxing matches to former UFC champion Valentina Schevchenko. This will be the first time she defends her title in UFC.
Calvillo's professional career
Cynthia Calvillo has a disappointing UFC record. She's currently on a losing streak of three fights and another loss could mean her departure. Although she is 35-years old, she is one of UFC's top flyweights. But her career isn’t as bright as it seems.

Tracy Cortez’s career
Tracy Cortez began her journey to UFC as a child in Arizona. Her parents were immigrants and she grew to be the only girl in her home. She was not allowed to play sports in her early years. She was interested in physical therapy and interior design, but eventually turned to mixed martial arts. It has been a major part of her daily life.
