USA has a long history of supporting female sports teams. Many examples of women athletes who have made waves in the sport world include Biney, Schmitt, Edwards, and Vollmer. But, even with all the success stories of women's sports teams, there are still some outstanding female athletes. Let's examine some of the most notable. Biney

Maame biney is an American short-track speed skater. She won bronze at the 2018 Winter Olympics' Women's Short Track event. She participated in the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics short track competition. Biney's incredible performance has sparked worldwide interest. Here are some facts. She is a true champion who is determined to win the world's best competition.

Schmitt

Allison Schmitt has been praised as one of the greatest female athletes in the USA. After the 2012 Olympic Games her national team was cut and she was not invited to the world championships. She suffered from depression. She even fell into a deep depression. She struggled to compete at the 2016 Olympic trials and even thought about driving off the road. She became an American Olympic swimming champion thanks to her determination to return to the pool.

Vollmer

Dana Whitney Vollmer is an Olympic gold medalist five times and a former world record holder at the swimming competition. In the 2004 Summer Olympics she won the bronze medal and set a world record. She won the Olympic bronze and bronze medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was a former college swimmer who has been training hard to become a world-class swimmer. Joyner-Kersee

Jacqueline Joyner Kersee of the USA is a retired track & field athlete. She has won four Olympic silver medals, one bronze and two gold. She is a great long jumper and heptathlete. She won the 1984 Olympic long jump title. Joyner-Kersee won the silver medal for the long jump in 1996.

Evans

Aja L., a Bobsledder for Team USA, is an Olympic Medalist and is a brakeman in the bobsled. She was raised in Chicago, where she was an All-American shotputter and a track and field City Champion. Evans, a University of Illinois student, won a shotput title and was an All American in track. She won the Olympic gold medal in shot put after joining the bobsled team.

Voisin

Maggie Voisin is an American female athlete who is part of the U.S. Olympic Team this year. She missed the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics after suffering a leg fracture. After breaking her leg, Voisin returned to competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics. However, she missed the podium because of a torn left ACL. Voisin will compete despite being sidelined for eight years by the injury.

Retton

Retton served as a member in 2004 of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. The organization was established by the U.S. to promote physical activity and encourage Americans all ages to engage in sport. This council is part of United States Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Public Health and Science. Retton assisted in dropping the bill's sponsor, even though it was not made into law.
