Mexicans have a long history in boxing. Mexico has some of world's most respected fighters, including Julio Cesar Chavez. Others like Saul "Canelo Alvarez have won world championships, and are icons. Mexico isn't as rich in MMA than it is in boxing. However, the country has produced some amazing fighters.

Brandon Moreno

Brandon Carrillo Moreno a professional mixed martial artist hailing from Mexico. He competes as a Flyweight fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was a former Flyweight Champion, and is currently the Interim UFC Flyweight Champion. He is known for his fast-paced, intense fighting style.

He is married Shirley Moreno, and they have been together for over 10 year. She usually stands by his side during public appearances. They have three daughters: Maddie was born in 2014, Megan in 2019, and Morgan in 2021. On social media, they shared photos of their loved ones.

Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez is a Mexican heavyweight who has had a great UFC career. He now wants to pursue a career in professional wrestling. He has wrestled in Mexico and the WWE. He signed with AAA Mexican wrestling promotion in December 2018. He plans to continue wrestling this year.

Velasquez was charged with attempted murder as well as multiple gun assault. Velasquez is currently being held without bail. He will appear in court Wednesday. The shooting took place on Monday, and Velasquez was arrested in connection to the incident. The victim suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

Nick Diaz

Nick Diaz from Mexico is a world champion in MMA and one of UFC's most charismatic fighters. He last fought Rob Lawler at UFC 47. Lawler prevailed by KO in the second round. Diaz has not been back in the ring since. Real Fight, Inc., is his own promotion company. He is also the co-founder of Real Fight, Inc., a clothing company and a training center for jiujitsu.


This is the highly anticipated fight in which Diaz makes his long-awaited comeback to the octagon. This could be his final fight for WME. It is not yet clear what Diaz's plans are. Regardless, he will face a hard-nosed opponent in Ferguson.

Alejandro Perez

Alejandro Perez, a Mexican mixed martial arts artist, is currently competing at the Ultimate Fighting Championship's bantamweight division. The reality TV series "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" made his name. After winning the show, Perez turned his attention to the MMA world.

Perez, 33 years old, is a Mexican citizen and was born September 2, 1989. Perez, now 33, competes in the bantamweight category. On November 15, 2014, he made his UFC debut. He trains at American Kickboxing Academy.

Melissa Martinez

Melissa Martinez, a Mexican kickboxer of 25 years old, is Melissa Martinez. She has been competing professionally as a kickboxer since 2016. She has a perfect track record and is considered one the best prospects in mixed martial arts. Her speciality is shock technique. She is also proficient in Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

Martinez won a gold medal at the 2021 World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) World Championship in Italy. She was also awarded the title of best female fighter at this event. She also won the 2016 Pan American Kickboxing Championship and a silver medal at the 2017 World Games. She is also a sixtime national kickboxing champion. She is a promising MMA fighter who plans to continue fighting in kickboxing.
