United States vs. Sweden is near and both sides are prepared for a tough matchup. The 2016 Olympics saw the U.S. win the silver medal. The two teams met in April to draw 1-1. This was the first time that the USWNT had trailed under Andonvoski. There will be a lot of players from Sweden in the lineup that could present problems for the U.S.
United States vs Sweden
While the United States has yet to beat Sweden, the first-half scoring made it very interesting. Carli Lloyd (Christen Press) scored a goal each, while Anna Anvegard (Sweden) scored two goals. Both have been selected for the Olympic squad. They have combined for eight goals over 19 matches.

Morgan Brian
The United States women's soccer team has started the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Sweden. The Americans used an aggressive attack strategy and were centered in Sweden's half of the field. They pressed hard in the midfield and created some excellent chances, including two in the first half. But the Americans have not lost their game. Morgan Brian sustained an injury in the first half when she was challenged by a Swedish defender. Anna-Marie Keighley was the goalkeeper for Sweden.
Tierna Davidson
The USA vs. Sweden game will be aired live on USA Network and Telemundo at 4:30 a.m. ET. The replay will air on NBCSN beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET. You can also stream it on fuboTV.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki
Jonathan Lekkerimaki can be described as a talented winger. He projects to be a top-6 forward in the NHL. He is a strong skimmer with great vision and a wrist shot. Lekkerimaki was a top scorer for Sweden at the World Under-18 Championship last spring. He recently scored a goal against Canada. While the game wasn't televised at all, a replay on the jumbotron of his goal was shown.
Tierna Davidson's World Cup debut
Davidson, who plays professionally with the Chicago Red Stars made her World Cup debut 16 month after they were crowned World Cup champions. The squad's young defender, Davidson, was an important member of the US Women's National Team.

Stina Blackstenius
Stina Blackstenius scored two goals for Sweden against the U.S. in their first match. This put the US on the back foot. Although her goal was only luck, it was also a significant part of the Swedish dominance. Sweden is the world champions and knocked out the Americans in the 2016 Olympics. Sweden had a 2-2 draw with the Americans in Stockholm in April but was able to thrash the Americans in Tokyo with a score of 4-0. Blackstenius's goals in the match against the world champs were a clear indication that Sweden is not underestimated, despite all the odds.
