Gu Jianlin is a Chinese-American female athlete who, despite being raised in the United States, decided to represent China at the Olympic Games. Her decision surprised many Americans, especially because it was a time of tension between the two countries. Many considered her a traitor. It was an unpopular decision that she made to represent her mother's nation. She was treated differently by society than if the United States had been her home.

Feminism

This study will examine the influence of feminist ideologies on women's advertising in athletics. Although the sample is very small, it may provide insight about the female athlete audience and the role that feminism plays in marketing athletic products. The results might also inspire more research. A larger sample size could yield stronger conclusions. Further research could also help to explore the relationship between feminism and athletic values.

Size

Reports about the size of Asian female athletes are often focused on their beauty and strength. This comment is a common feature of Asian American Olympics coverage. Despite this stereotype, Asian-American athletes are also great in many other sports.

Fragility

Asian American women have been making their way to the Olympics, and they've been scrutinized by fans and the national team. Zhu Yi is a recent example. She was mocked for her fall during the team event. Zhu gave up American citizenship to represent China, and "stole” the position from a Chinese-born competitor.

Color

The history of Asian female athletes in sports has been complicated. Despite the fact that most American female athletes are white, some Asian women have excelled in sports. Chinese athletes have been the most successful in sports that are dominated by non-Asians. But there are also several Asian women who have been unlucky, despite their extraordinary talent and drive.

Status

Asian female athletes have become more prominent by winning medals in international competitions and at the Olympic games. They are role models, diplomats, and often speak out against injustice in their personal and professional lives. In this issue of Vogue Singapore, we celebrate seven outstanding female athletes from Asia.

Race

There are many stereotypes that have existed about race over the years, especially in competitive sport. Asian athletes are often portrayed as weak, fragile and unfit for modern sports. Despite these stereotypes, Asian women are now well-known in the sporting arena and are often featured in news stories. These stories often focus on the psychological and physical characteristics of athletes.
