Carla Esparza, a mixed martial artist, is Carla Esparza. She is currently the Ultimate Fighting Championship strawweight champion. She is currently UFC strawweight champ. Carla Esparza (USA) is a professional mixed martial artist. She competes in UFC's women's strawweight division. She is the UFC Women's Strawweight Champion, and she has also won two UFC titles.

Esparza made her debut in 2012 when she signed with Invicta FC. Invicta FC2 saw Sarah Schneider lose to Esparza in 2012. Esparza got on the back of Schneider early with a heel hook and then attacked the Argentine. She briefly attempted to apply a rear naked choke, but she was unable to control her opponent.

Carla Esparza began professional fighting in 2010. She is the first UFC strawweight champion and the first Invicta FC strawweight champion. Carla Esparza, despite suffering nerve damage in 2007, has been able return to action in recent times. Rose Namajunas defeated her to win the UFC strawweight title in May. In November, she will be defending her title against Zhang Weili who was the previous champ. Recently, she posted an update on social media regarding her fight camp.

Esparza was taken to the hospital after the accident. She was later diagnosed with nerve damage. Although her hospital bill was more than $30,000, Esparza committed to fighting. InvictaFC 7 was her next fight. She defeated Maya Hamasaki again. Claudia Gadelha fought her again, but Gadelha was ill with stomach cancer.

Rose Namajunas defeated her twice in title fights.

Rose Namajunas is a former woman's lightweight champion and Carla Esparza has faced her in two title fights. Namajunas won the title in April and retained it in November. Although the bout was close throughout it, neither fighter was able to score a knockout. Official scorecards showed Esparza winning 48 to 47.

Esparza was 3-3 in 29 months prior to this title fight, but her victory over Virna Jandiroba in April 2019 set the stage for a five-fight win streak. She went on to beat Yan Xiaonan in a COVID-quiet UFC APEX event in Las Vegas, finishing in under eight minutes. She defended her title by knockout in round one of the UFC APEX event in Las Vegas, June 2019.
