She played every minute for the team and made four saves in the 2-1 win over France. Naeher also stopped Steph Houghton from trying to make a penalty kick save in semifinals.
Tiffany McLeod
Recent controversy in the match between the US and Canada's women's soccer teams saw the Canadian players accuse Christiana Pedersen, the referee, of bias. The Canadians were upset after Pedersen awarded a penalty to the United States in the 80th minute for holding the ball in the penalty area. Pedersen was also a former World Cup referee.
Megan Rapinoe
Megan Rapinoe is a constant presence for the United States women’s national team for more than a decade. She is an outstanding forward on and off the pitch. Growing up in Redding California, she played volleyball along with her twin sister and brother. In recent years, Rapinoe has delivered big time for the United States, netting two goals in the 2012 World Cup and another in the 2015 World Cup.
