The Dallas Wings selected Veronica Burton, a Northwestern guard, as their seventh overall pick. She averaged 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists and four steals per game last season, and she even reached double figures in the Big Ten tournament. Phoenix Mercury drafted Maya Dodson as Notre Dame forward in the same draft.
Trades
The Sky made some moves this offseason to increase their roster. They traded away several players in exchange for new draft picks. Alaina coates was traded to Minnesota for Kaitlin Louis Samuelson, while Astou Nyour and Kaitlin Lou Samuelson were acquired from Dallas. They also traded their 16th pick from the 2021 Draft, as well as a second-rounder in 2022.
