Carli Lloyd

Carli Lloyd is one of the most well-known women's soccer players. She was raised in Delran (New Jersey) and played soccer as a young girl with Turkish boys. She has also been involved in softballs, swimming, basketball and golf. She has a brother, Stephen, and a sister, Ashley. Before she went to Rutgers University, Delran High School was her first stop. There she earned her Bachelor's in Exercise Science. Brian Hollins was her high school sweetheart and she still lives in South Jersey.

Marta Vieira da Silva

Marta Vieira da Silva plays professional Brazilian football. She was born in 1986 on 19 February. She plays forward for the Orlando Pride in the NWSL, and the Brazilian National Team. Six times, she was named FIFA World Player the Year. Five of these consecutively. This achievement makes Marta the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of the sport. Marta's remarkable feat is not without controversy. She still faces many controversies.


Homaresawa

Former Japanese professional footballer Homare Sawa became one of the most feared midfielders in history with a career that spanned nearly two decades. Sawa was born 6 September 1978 and played a variety of roles for Japan's national team. With 205 caps, Sawa is considered to be one of the best female footballers. In her playing career, Sawa played for both the Nippon TV Beleza and the INAC Kobe Leonessa, earning local fame. When she scored a hat-trick and led the Japanese team to a silver medal at the 2011 World Cup her fame skyrocketed.

Vivianne Miedema

Vivianne Miedema became the Dutch senior team's first player in September 2013. She was the second highest league goal scorer at 60. Her impressive career saw her play for many different clubs in the Netherlands including Heerenveen. She scored 24 goals in the same number of games at the 2012/13 UEFA Women's European Championship. In 2013/14 she was a part of the BeNe League's second team and scored 41 goals in 26 appearances. Despite her achievements, she was not selected for the Ballon d'Or Shortlist or FIFPRO World XI.

Megan Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe excels at pitching and is a strong advocate to equality and social injustice. She has sparred with President Donald Trump on Twitter and supports the taking the knee campaign against racial injustice. She took a knee in September 2016, during the Thai national anthem. After the 2016 Olympics her kneeling during national anthem was a reason she was kicked out of the team.

Alex Morgan

Alexandra Morgan Carrasco of America is a professional soccer player. She plays as a forward and captains San Diego Wave FC, which is the highest division in women's pro soccer. She also plays for the United States women's national team. Morgan is the son of a former football player. She has been an active participant in the community since her childhood, and has played soccer all her life.

Julie Rodman

New Zealand is hosting the 2023 FIFA World Cup. It also marks the 2024 Olympics. Through the CONCACAF W Championship, the USA must qualify for these events. They must win the CONCACAF Women's Championship to be eligible for the Olympic qualifier. Rodman is the most famous of many female soccer stars that have won the Olympics.
