We've all seen a few of the world's top gymnasts. Some are more known than others. We've spoken about Elfi Schllegal, Larisa Latynina, and Simone Biles. These women are some of the best. We have also discussed the worldwide impact that these women have had. These women's accomplishments are amazing and have had an enormous impact on the culture and sport of the world.

Simone Biles

Simone Biles' dominance is hard to dispute. The 19 time world all-around champion now holds more world titles for female gymnasts than any other. Since the 1970s she's won more U.S. golds than any other gymnast. She currently has four eponymous talents, with a fifth expected to be added at Tokyo Olympics.

Nadia Comaneci

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast who has made history within the sport of gymnastics. In 1976, she became the first gymnast ever to get a perfect score at an Olympic competition. Technical limitations prevented her from displaying the expected 10 on the scoreboard. Comaneci was then awarded the title of best gymnast in history, having achieved six more perfect 10.

Larisa Latynina

Larisa Latynin, a well-known name in the sport world is Larisa Latynin. Passionate gymnast, she actively takes part in her country's Olympic preparations. She was the torchbearer at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2006 in Beijing.


Elfi Schlegal

Elfi Schelegal is one Canada's most famous gymnasts. She was an All-American three times and won a gold at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. A graduate of the University of Utah, Elfi remained part of the Canadian National Gymnastics team until 1985. Later she was a reporter covering the Olympic women’s gymnastics competitions at both the 1992 Barcelona Olympics as well as the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Svetlana Khorkina

Svetlana Kyorkina was conceived in Belgorod on 19 January 1979. She was one of the top contenders for the 2004 Athens Olympics. Russia also won the bronze medal at the team competition. She had been a member of the 1996 and 2000 Russian teams, which were among the top contenders. The 2004 Russian team did not have the same talent.

Kohei Uchimura

Kohei Uchimura is one of Japan's best gymnasts. The Japanese gymnastics team only barely qualified for the Olympic Games after Uchimura was the sole veteran. Although he finished last in the first competition, Uchimura quickly established a schedule and visualized his techniques using a notebook. After moving to Tokyo, he was selected to be part of the Tokyo national team at the age 17. He was then selected to compete in the Olympics in Beijing in 2008. He was awarded seven medals.
