Simone Biles

Simone Biles reigning supreme in gymnastics is hard for anyone to deny. The 19-time all-around world champion has now won more world titles then any other female gymnast. Since the 1970s, she has won more golds than any other U.S.-based gymnast. She currently has four eponymous abilities, with the possibility of adding another at the Tokyo Olympics.

Nadia Comaneci

Nadia Comaneci from Romania is an icon in the sport gymnastics. She was the first gymnast to score a perfect "10" at an Olympic competition in 1976. Technical limitations prevented her from displaying the expected 10 on the scoreboard. Comaneci then went on to achieve six more perfect 10s, earning the title of best gymnast in history.

Larisa Latynina

Larisa Latynin has become a prominent figure in the world of sport. A passionate gymnast, she actively participates in her country's Olympic preparations. She served as the torchbearer in Beijing for the Winter Olympics 2006.


Elfi Schlegal

Elfi is Canada's greatest gymnast. She won a silver medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. Elfi, who graduated from the University of Utah in 1978, was still a member of Canada's National Gymnastics Team through 1985. Later she was a reporter covering the Olympic women’s gymnastics competitions at both the 1992 Barcelona Olympics as well as the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Svetlana Khorkina

Svetlana Khorkina was born on January 19, 1979, in Belgorod, Russia. She was one of the top contenders for the 2004 Athens Olympics. Russia also won the bronze medal at the team competition. She was part the 1996 and 2000 Russian team, which were top contenders. However, 2004's Russian team didn’t have the same amount talent.

Kohei Uchimura

Kohei Uchimura is one of Japan's best gymnasts. The Japanese gymnastics team barely qualified for the Olympic games after the Uchimura was the only veteran on the team. Although he came last in his first competition, he quickly developed a strict training schedule, visualising his techniques in a notebook. He was 17 when he went to Tokyo to train. A year later, he was chosen for the Olympics in Beijing, where he took a silver medal in the all-around. He won seven medals.
