Revelations Cup
On Wednesday, the U.S. Men's National Team will begin its Revelations Cup Tournament Mexico. The tournament involves four U-20 teams from around the world and lasts 10 days. The tournament seeks to bring people closer to some the best players and help rewrite sport history.
Varas and his team are having a difficult opening game in the Revelations Cup against Brazil. Varas only joined the squad in December. The squad also had a few practice sessions before the competition. The squad failed to register a single goal. However, Varas said his players are ready for a tough challenge and are working hard to get better.
FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup for male football players is an annual tournament. FIFA organizes the tournament and it was first held in Tunisia, in 1977. The tournament was previously called the FIFA World Youth Championship. It has become a worldwide phenomenon. By qualifying from their youth championships, teams can compete for a spot at the tournament. There are six groups. The top two teams from each group advance to the next stage. The remaining four teams are eliminated.
Argentina is the most successful tournament team, having won the tournament six times. Their last title was won in Canada in 2007. Others notable countries include Russia, England, Ukraine and Ukraine.
Olympic qualifying tournaments for players below 23
Each four years, the Olympic qualifying tournament has been held for players under 23. The tournament is for under-23 players and is distinct from the FIFA World Cup. Each nation may have up to three wildcards, regardless of their age. The United States has failed to qualify for the tournament three out of the last four years, losing to El Salvador, Canada, and Mexico. But, the United States was not required to forfeit any of its Under-23 players as they were already playing for their senior national team.
Brazil, Mexico and Canada will all be represented in the group stage. The U-23 squad will also face CONCACAF on March 18. The first group game will be against Costa Rica on March 18. The next game in the group stage will be a knockout game between the top two teams. The round's winners will be able to play each other in knockout rounds.
Team USA vs Honduras u20
As they attempt to qualify for Pre-World Cup qualification, the Hondurans intend to capitalize on their home advantage. The national team performed well on the group stage. They will now be looking to replicate that performance in the CONCACAF U-20 qualification rounds. The match will be played at the General Francisco Morazan Stadium also known as La Bombonerita.
Honduras beat Panama 2-1 in their last game. Marco Tulio Aceituno scored a brace in Honduras' 2-1 win over Panama. However, the United States dominated that match, winning every point. The Hondurans are determined to keep their winning streak alive and defeat their rivals.
