Pepsi was the last major brand to sponsor Major League Soccer, but it has expanded its sponsorships over the past few years. The company sponsors many MLS teams, including New York City FC FC and FC Dallas FC. Pepsi also has the opportunity to promote its various brands through this partnership.

FedEx

FedEx and UEFA have partnered together to promote the sport of soccer. The sponsorship agreement covers three years and will include sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League. FedEx will also participate in the Uefa Youth League. UEFA Super Cup and Uefa eChampions League. FedEx has been a supporter of the Europa League ever since 2015 and will continue to do so through the 2020-21 season. FedEx also owns the rights to UEFA EURO 2020 as well as the finals of the Uefa Nation League.


Gazprom

Gazprom's sponsorship of soccer has been the subject of much controversy in recent months. Gazprom shirt sponsorships have been withdrawn by several European football clubs due to concerns about Russian support. Schalke 04 was one of those teams that pulled its shirt sponsor from Gazprom. This was citing UEFA’s ethics guidelines. Concerns over Russian-backed companies have grown throughout Europe and the world. Gazprom is a Russian natural-gas company with its headquarters in Saint Petersburg. The Russian government owns the majority of the company and has a worldwide presence in soccer.

Hisense

Hisense, one of the largest TV producers in the world, is not unfamiliar with sponsorship. The company has participated in many major events, including the 2010 World Cup and the recent World Cup in Russia. Hisense's global awareness increased by over 6% due to sponsorships. Sponsorships do more than boost sales. They help the company promote its products via on-site engagement and worldwide advertising campaigns. Hisense will also benefit from offering video-on-demand programming based on past World Cup content. Customers of Hisense will be able to access this content through the company's VIDAA smart TV platform.

Volkswagen announced that it will sponsor the German national soccer team. The brand wants to repair its image after last year's diesel emissions scandal. They also plan to move toward electric cars. Wolfsburg-based automaker is investing big on a German soccer team. However, experts are questioning whether such an investment is justified given the club’s limited revenues as well as the absence of a global fan base.
