Estrada's success

Hanson was Estrada's assistant coach for the San Jose State women's soccer program in 2017. Estrada has a similar history to Hanson. She was an All American college player in soccer and was a member of U.S.'s under-17 national team. Estrada, a Santa Clara forward who was three times all-WCC, also participated in four NCAA tournaments. In 2015, Estrada was named Assistant Coach of Year by the NSCAA.

Recent success at SJSU

The recent success of SJSU women's soccer has been attributed to several players. Most notable was Dorthe hoppius, who was named the team's MVP. But, she will not return as a Spartan for the 2018 season. Jamilecxth Becerra, the sophomore Jamilecxth Becerra won Mountain West Newcomer's of the Year. Becerra scored seven goals and five game-winning goals. In addition, Darriell Franklin was named the MW defensive player of the year and named to the All-MW first team.

New facilities for Spartans have been key to their success. Spartan Beach is a new addition to the campus. In addition to these two facilities the Spartans plan to open their Spartan Athletics Center in the next year.

Tina Estrada's professional career

Estrada has been serving as the interim head coach of the San Jose State women's soccer team for the past two months. She has been an assistant Spartans coach for four years, and was most recently the Associate Head Coach. Lauren Hanson resigned after eight years. She was replaced by her on February 1. Hanson had been the most successful coach in school history.

Estrada was an outstanding Santa Clara University player and was a great assistant and head coach for many programs.
